Veer-Zaara is a 2004 Indian romantic drama film directed by Yash Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji in the leading roles, with Manoj Bajpai, Kirron Kher, Divya Dutta and Anupam Kher in supporting roles. Veteran actors Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini make special appearances in the film. The film's story and dialogues were written by Aditya Chopra.

Set against the backdrop of conflict between India and Pakistan, this star-crossed romance follows the unfortunate love story of an Indian Air Force pilot, Squadron Leader Veer Pratap Singh, and a Pakistani woman hailing from a rich political family of Lahore, Zaara Haayat Khan, who are separated for 22 years. Saamiya Siddiqui, a Pakistani lawyer, finds Veer in prison, and upon listening to his story, tries to get him freed.

Highly anticipated pre-release, the film eventually became the top-grossing Bollywood film of the year at both the Indian and the international box office, earning over INR942.2 million (US$14 million) worldwide, in addition to being showcased at numerous prominent film festivals around the world. The music of the film, based on old compositions by the late Madan Mohan with lyrics by Javed Akhtar, was also successful. Upon its theatrical release, Veer-Zaara received mostly positive reviews from critics. The film won several awards in major Indian film award ceremonies, including the Most Popular Film award at the National Film Awards and the Filmfare Award for Best Film, among others. The film marked Chopra's return as a director after seven years post Dil To Pagal Hai, which also starred Shahrukh Khan.

Kites is a 2010 Indian romantic action thriller film directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Rakesh Roshan, that stars Hrithik Roshan, Bárbara Mori, Kangna Ranaut, and Kabir Bedi. The film was released in India and in North America on 21 May 2010. Its 208-theater opening in North America made it the largest Bollywood release there to that time. It was also the first Bollywood movie to reach the weekend top ten, though My Name is Khan had a larger first-weekend North American gross. Despite a strong opening in India, it was eventually declared an average also in overseas.

Jai (Hrithik Roshan) is a dance teacher in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a sideline, he marries immigrant women to get them green cards. When Gina (Kangna Ranaut), the rich daughter of a powerful casino owner Bob (Kabir Bedi), falls for him, Jai goes along to marry into money. He discovers that his future brother-in-law, the vicious, homicidal Tony (Nick Brown), is about to marry a Mexican woman named Natasha (Bárbara Mori), whom Jai knows as Linda, the last of the immigrant women he married. On the night before "Natasha" and Tony's wedding, Linda and Jai spend a romantic but chaste night, humorously agreeing to a "divorce". A jealous, gun-wielding Tony arrives at her apartment while Jai is there. After he hits her, Linda impulsively knocks him out with a heavy object while he tussles with Jai. Linda and Jai go on the run toward Mexico, with Tony and police in pursuit. They are helped by a friend of Jai, Robin (Anand Tiwari). Robin gives them fake passports and IDs so that they can go wherever they want.

In the following week, Jai and Linda get married in Mexico. On the day of their wedding, they come back to their house. There, Robin comes to give them the passports and is unexpectedly shot by Tony and his men. Linda and Jai escape, but Jai is shot in the process. In a car chase, Linda stops the car at a train, puts Jai aboard it, and drives off. Back to the present, Jai meets with Jamaal, one of Bob's employees, and is ambushed. Jamaal is killed but not before telling Jai of Linda's whereabouts. Jai kills off all of Tony's men and then beats Tony by smashing his face into the car door, until he is shot by Gina. He drives off to the location where Jamaal said Linda was last seen. It is shown that after Jai was put aboard the train, Linda was ambushed on a cliff and sent Jai a text message saying "I am going...Sorry, Forget me". She drives off of the cliff, killing herself by drowning. Jai cries and then smiles, jumping off the cliff as well. Finally, he is reunited with Linda under the ocean, and they embrace through death.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan (English: As Long as I Live) is a 2012 Indian romantic drama film directed by Yash Chopra and written and produced by Aditya Chopra under their production banner, Yash Raj Films. It features Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles; this is the first collaboration between Khan and Kaif, and the second between Khan and Sharma (they previously featured in the 2008 film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi). Yash Chopra returned to directing eight years after Veer-Zaara and it was his final film before his death on 21 October 2012. The background score and soundtrack was composed by A.R. Rahman, while the lyrics were written by Gulzar.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan tells the story of Akira Rai (Sharma), a curious Discovery Channel intern, who finds the diary of a bomb-disposal expert, Samar Anand (Khan), which recounts his days as a struggling immigrant in London, and his romance with Meera Thapar (Kaif). The film was released during the six-day Diwali weekend beginning on 13 November 2012. It received positive-to-mixed reviews from critics in India and positive reviews abroad. It opened well at the box office, and Box Office India declared the film a "hit" in India and a "blockbuster" overseas. Jab Tak Hai Jaan emerged as the fourth-highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time overseas, after 3 Idiots (2009), My Name Is Khan (2010) and Chennai Express (2013).

The film was praised for its direction, cinematography and the chemistry between the lead actors; Khan and Sharma were appreciated for their performances, although the predictable plot was criticised. At the end of its theatrical run Jab Tak Hai Jaan received a number of awards, including four Filmfare Awards, which included trophies for Best Supporting Actress (Sharma) and Best Lyrics for Gulzar.

The film was released a day earlier in the overseas markets on 8 August 2013 and in India on 9 August 2013. Extensive paid previews were held in India on 8 August 2013 as well. Upon release, the film received mixed reviews from critics. Despite this, the film broke several records in India and abroad and became the fastest film to collect INR1 billion (US$15 million). wow!!
